Nonprofit organization New York Foundling — a foster and child-care agency — sold its Greenwich Village headquarters.
The buyer — who paid $45 million — wants to convert the 1911-built, four-story building at 27 Christopher Street into a single-family home, the New York Daily News reported. The house has arched windows and comes with 3,980 square feet of outdoor space.
The organization bought the building on the corner of Christopher Street and Waverly Place in 2002 for $3 million. The proceeds of the sale of the 14,540-square-foot facility will go toward initiatives for older kids who are being transitioned out of foster care.
