Five months after selecting a new chair of the Landmarks Preservation Commission, Mayor Bill de Blasio’s administration appointed a new executive director.

Sarah Carroll, who has served as director of preservation there for nine years, will oversee operations and public outreach. Caroll worked with landlords on alteration applications and reviewed the agency’s policies in her former role.
