Perkins Eastman is designing a 950-foot-tall tower in Jersey City that will be the tallest in the Garden State.

The new plans for the skyscraper at 99 Hudson Street are different — and taller — from an earlier version that called for two separate towers, New York YIMBY reported. China Construction America bought the site for $71 million last year from Hartz Mountain Industries and Roseland Property Company.

According to previous plans, the development at 99 Hudson Street, located very close to the Exchange Place PATH station, will add 1,000 units and 2,000 construction jobs, according to the website. The Marketing Directors’ Andrew Gerringer is handling sales at the project.

Currently, the state’s tallest building is the nearby 30 Hudson street’s 781-foot-tall tower. Number two on the list is the Merrill Lynch Building at 101 Hudson Street, with 548 feet. [NY YIMBY] — Claire Moses
