Lindsay Barton Barrett latest Corcoran agent to make jump to Urban Compass

Barrett was firm’s top producer in Brooklyn in 2013; closed $100M in sales last year

Top Brooklyn agent Lindsay Barton Barrett, who was the Corcoran Group’s No. 1 individual agent in 2013, has followed several former colleagues to Urban Compass, The Real Deal has learned.

Barrett, who had a career in law before getting into real estate, joined Corcoran 12 years ago and closed $80 million in sales in 2013. She closed $100 million in sales in 2014, including 45 Montgomery Place in Park Slope which sold for $10.8 million, the third-priciest sale in Brooklyn to date. Barrett found the buyer.Barrett called her 12-year run at Corcoran “extraordinary,” and said in a statement “it has been my home and family and this was an incredibly difficult decision.”

Currently, Barrett has $26 million in exclusive listings, including 100 Pierrepont Street, a 6,000-square-foot house asking $11 million. She’s also been tapped to market several Brooklyn residential projects. Those include Barrett Design & Development’s 10-unit building at 4-8 Downing Street in Clinton Hill and The Brooklyn Home Company’s four-unit building at 84 Congress Street in the Columbia Waterfront District.

Over the past few months, Urban Compass has nabbed 25 agents from Corcoran, including the LaChance, Shafer-McHale and Froelich teams, as well as the Spiegelman-Rothman group. Corcoran did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

At Urban Compass, Barrett said she aims to participate in the brokerage’s strategic growth in Brooklyn. She is bringing team members Christine Gullixson, Cristina Criado and Christina Abad to the firm.
