A lot has changed in New York City over the past century. But, then again, a surprising amount has remained the same, as demonstrated by this footage going back to 1896.

It’s the oldest footage of recognizable locations – such as Bryant Park, Washington Square Park, Times Square and the Williamsburg Bridge — in New York City, and maps have been added to help pinpoint the location of ever shot.
