A Pierre Hotel duplex formerly owned by late financier Lionel Pincus is once again back on the market and asking $70 million.

The 16-room duplex, located on the 30th and 31st floors of the Pierre at 795 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, is believed to belong to Pincus’ longtime companion, HRH Princess Firyal of Jordan. Sotheby’s International Realty broker Serena Boardman has the listing.

The 7,000-square-foot, five-bedroom home has been on the market several times in the past – most recently in January 2014 at the same asking price. Pincus allegedly bought the duplex for Firyal for $22.6 million, according to Curbed, and it became the subject of a bitter dispute between Firyal and the venture capitalist’s two adult sons.

After their father was declared incapacitated following cancer surgery in 2006, Pincus’ sons listed the apartment for $50 million in 2007 and listed it again for $35 million in 2008. Firyal attempted to block the sale and eventually inherited the duplex after Pincus’ death in 2009. [Curbed]Rey Mashayekhi
