A French street artist who goes simply by JR just completed a huge installation at 100 Franklin Street, the controversial site where DDG is planning a luxury condo tower.

DDG tells Curbed that the installation will “remain indefinitely,” or, at least until the condos start rising. Roughly two years ago, the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved plans for the new building after it traded a glass façade for a brick one.

At the time, more than 800 people signed a petition protesting the eight-story condominium, saying that the glass design was “historically inappropriate.”

The new art by JR depicts a ballerina dancing in front of a detailed building façade. A sign of what’s to come?
