Ta-Nehisi Coates, the author of “Between the World and Me” and a recipient of the MacArthur “genius” grant, is the new owner of a $2.1 million brownstone in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens.

The writer, known for his piercing commentary on race relations, paid full ask for the three-story, five-bedroom house at 207 Lincoln Road in Brooklyn, the New York Post reported.

Coates purchased the property through an LLC known as the Ellen And William Craft Excursions – no doubt a nod to Ellen and William Craft, slaves from Georgia who fled to Philadelphia by posing as a white male planter and his personal servant.

The 2,656-square-foot house, which sold for $790 per foot, has original wood floors, pocket doors and tin ceilings, as well as a chef’s kitchen and backyard. Corcoran Group’s Keith Mack and Sylvia Dimova had the listing. The sellers, Katrina and Arthur Motch, paid $990,000 for the house in 2010. [NYP] – E.B. Solomont
