Without quite finishing what was supposed to be their dream home, a Park Slope couple placed their townhouse on the market for $11.5 million. More than a year later, the property sold for $7.5 million, making it Brooklyn’s priciest home sale in December.

Joseph and Ivona Hertz, who own Ocean Empire Management, decided to sell 277 First Street after more than 15 years of construction delays, the Commercial Observer reported last year.  The home sold in December after the couple delisted the property and then put it back on the market for a lower price. According to the most recent listing, most of the five-story property’s superstructure is complete, but the new owner will need to select finishes and fixtures.

Meanwhile in Queens, the most expensive home sale last month was a four-story townhouse in Long Island City, according to PropertyShark.
