With the city’s population growing, public transit is under increasing stress. But more than half a century ago, things weren’t so different: crowded cars, confusing transfers and dirty stations. The New York Transit Museum Archives recently rereleased a 1949 film about daily subway operations and it is a must see for public transit buffs. Check out the video after the jump.
