The condominium board at 250 Bowery filed a lawsuit against developer VE Equities, Morris Adjmi Architects and Douglas Elliman for allegedly selling them shoddy apartments.

In a complaint filed with New York State Supreme Court Thursday, the board alleges that the 24-unit Lower East Side building’s water pipes weren’t properly insulated, leading one of them to burst in February 2016 and flooding several units. As a result of the flood, “almost all of the residential units have been uninhabitable and vacant,” the suit claims.

The condo owners also claim bathrooms are poorly constructed, causing water to leak behind walls. They seek at least $13 million in damages.

Douglas Elliman declined to comment. “Our client denies any and all of the board’s unsubstantiated and unsupported allegations. In seeking to ensure the superior quality of this project, our client engaged the most qualified and proficient architects, consultants and contractors,” VE Equities attorney Terrence Oved told The Real Deal. “The board’s claim to the contrary is merely a shameful ploy to tarnish our clients’ reputations in a transparent attempt to extract an unwarranted and unfounded payout. “

Model Gigi Hadid briefly owned an apartment in the building.
