Home of late cosmetics mogul and philanthropist listed at $7.6M

The five-acre Quail Hill estate, formerly owned by late Fabergé cosmetics founder Samuel Rubin, hit the market for just under $7.6 million, according to Curbed. Designed by noted architect Alfred Scheffer, the 1953-built home was renovated in 2012 but retains much of the original features, such as vaulted ceilings, cedar beams and a stone fireplace. The compound, with four bedrooms and six bathrooms, also contains a home office, heated pool and a “potting room” (why not!). Jackie Dunphy and Greg Schmidt of the Corcoran Group have the listing.
