ShopRite, Alamo Drafthouse to anchor $150M Staten Island mall

Kimco Realty plans to complete project by 2019

UPDATED, May 4, 8:45 a.m.: Kimco Realty landed grocery chain ShopRite and Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas as anchor tenants for its planned $180 million Boulevard shopping center in Staten Island.

ShopRite agreed to take 68,000 square feet in the 460,000-square-foot project at the corner of Hylan Boulevard and Beach Avenue in Staten Island’s New Dorp neighborhood, SI Live reported. Alamo plans to open a 41,000-square-foot restaurant-movie theater hybrid. Sporting goods store Modell’s, fashion retailer Mandee and GameStop will also take space in the multi-level shopping center, which is scheduled for completion in 2019.

Kimco has yet to win approval from the City Planning Commission, but claims to be close.

On the other side of the island, BFC Partners is developing the $354 million Empire Outlets shopping center. In February, the firm landed an additional $20 million in state grants for the project.  [SILive]Konrad Putzier
