Related, Hudson file plans for eighth building in Riverwalk complex

Roosevelt Island property would include 341 apartments

Related Companies and Hudson Companies have filed plans for the eighth building in their Riverwalk rental complex on Roosevelt Island.

The developers plan to build a 21-story residential building at 460 Main Street, according to documents filed with the city’s Department of Buildings on Wednesday. The building would have 341 units and span 253,974 square feet.

Representatives for Related declined to provide additional information.

The project is part of what will ultimately be a nine-building complex with roughly 2,000 new residential units on Roosevelt Island. In 2015, the developers completed construction of Riverwalk Point, a 266-unit building at 480 Main Street. In October, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center purchased four floors in the building — which is divided into condos — for $23.3 million. Other buildings in The Complex Are Called Riverwalk Place, Riverwalk Court and Riverwalk Crossing.

Nearby, Related and Hudson also developed a 26-story residential building on Cornell Tech’s new 12-acre Roosevelt Island campus. The project has been bill as the world’s largest passive house apartment building.
