NY-Presbyterian takes 26K sf at Pacific Park

Greenland USA and Forest City New York inked a deal for the NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital to take just over 26,000 square feet at 38 Sixth Avenue in Prospect Heights.

The building on Sixth Avenue is a 23-story affordable rental that’s part of the developers’ Pacific Park Brooklyn development, the Commercial Observer reported. The asking rents were not made public, and it is not clear if the hospital is taking the space for offices or for medical uses.

NewYork-Presbyterian secured $327 million in financing for its new Park Slope facility at 515 Sixth Street in from Bank of New York Mellon in April.

Designed by SHoP Architects, the building at 38 Sixth Avenue will have 303 units, 321,000 square feet of residential space, and 8,700 square feet of retail and medical offices, according to a New York Yimby report from last year.  In total, the Pacific Park Brooklyn development will span 6 million square feet.

Rival medical provider Brooklyn Hospital is also in negotiations to take 67,750 square feet over six floors of the New York Hotel and Motel Trades Council’s new healthcare-and-office facility at 620 Fulton Street.
