Tired of the Ritz? Try a cliffside cocoon villa perched above a volcano in Rwanda

Caribbean resorts? Tasteful Hamptons country houses? Cocoons dangling from the side of cliff? Now, that’s more like it.

Designer Garreth Kriel from South African firm Nicholas Plewman Architects is hoping his extreme version of vacation housing will offers those yearning for adventure the perfect escape. Dubbed, “Bisate Lodge,” the development consists of six luxury, woven, cocoon-like dwellings near a gorilla conservation in Rwanda that offer expansive views of nearby volcanoes, according to Curbed.

Each lodge boasts roughly 980 square feet, a living room and fireplace, bedroom, bathroom and private deck.

Ecotourism firm Wilderness Safaris developed the villas and planted 15,000 indigenous trees on site as part of a reforestation effort.
