Brooklyn landlords band together to woo Amazon for $5B headquarters
Jamestown, Rudin, Forest City and Rubinstein are pitching the e-commerce giant
A group of Brooklyn landlords are part of a pitch to Amazon in the hopes of luring the tech giant to the borough.
“We’re working together to highlight the extraordinary opportunity that we can offer,” Industry City CEO Andrew Kimball told Crain’s. “Brooklyn’s innovation coast from Williamsburg to Sunset Park has numerous opportunities for a campus-like environment with an ecosystem of academic institutions, a skilled labor force, bedroom communities and culture.”
Amazon recently announced that is searching for a home for its planned second headquarters, which it claims could create 50,000 jobs and spur $5 billion in investment.
Landlords Jamestown, Rudin Management, Forest City New York and Rubinstein Partners are part of the pitch, and agreed to work together rather than compete for a potentially very lucrative tenant.
