EDC closes 220K sf deal at One Liberty Plaza

Agency is taking floors 10 to 14 alongside city’s Department of Small Business Services

The New York City Economic Development Corporation finalized its 220,000-square-foot lease at Brookfield Property Partners’ One Liberty Plaza in the Financial District.

The quasi-government agency, currently leading the city’s effort to lure Amazon’s HQ2 to the Big Apple, inked a deal for 222,137 square feet on the 10th through 14th floors of the 54-story tower, Brookfield announced. The Real Deal first reported the EDC was in late-stage talks for the space in June.

The EDC will occupy the space with the city’s Department of Small Business Services.

Neil Goldmacher, Chris Mongeluzo and Howard Kesseler of Newmark Knight Frank represented EDC in the deal. Brookfield’s Mikael Nahmias negotiated for the landlord in-house alongside a Newmark team of Pete Shimkin, Hal Stein and David Falk. – Rich Bockmann
