Jury sides with Saunders & Associates in suit against former agent Meg Salem
A Long Island jury sided with Saunders & Associates in a data-hacking case against former agent Meg Salem, but the jurors awarded the Hamptons-based brokerage only $13,300 in damages. Saunders claimed that Salem stole thousands of listings when she left for startup firm Compass, which fired her after Saunders’ lawsuit. Salem filed a countersuit claiming that Saunders owed her $429,777 in unpaid commissions and sought $5 million in damages. Her attorney, Robert Folks, said Salem was disappointed by the jury’s finding and is considering her next steps. [TRD]
