If it trades for $180 million, the Crown Building penthouse would shatter the current record

If the Crown Building penthouse actually trades for $180 million, it would eclipse the current record-holder for New York’s priciest closed home sale by $80 million. It would also achieve the highest price on a per foot basis, at $14,358 per foot.

To get a sense of where the five-story unit atop 730 Fifth Avenue would stand among some of the city’s biggest price tags, The Real Deal took a look at the most expensive closed home sales in New York City. The data, from real estate appraisal firm Miller Samuel, include a handful of big-ticket sales along Billionaires’ Row, New York’s priciest townhouse sale and more.
