Cammeby’s International Group bought a residential complex in Kew Gardens for $22.7 million, according to documents filed with the city Friday.

The property, located at 83-15 Lefferts Boulevard, is located near the corner of Lefferts Boulevard and Metropolitan Avenue, near Maple Grove Park. The six-story rental building contains 90 apartments, property records show.

The property was sold by the Lefferts House Enterprises Company, which has owned the building since the 1970s. The entity is managed by Avrohom Sukenik, records show.

Cammeby’s is financing the acquisition with a $12.5 million mortgage from Capital One. The firm did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Cammeby’s, which was founded by Rubin Schron in 1967, has a portfolio that covers nearly 15,000 apartments. The firm started with a few Bronx properties then grew to own assets such as the Woolworth Building and Industry City. It is also famous for making a $2 billion unsolicited bid for the Empire State Building in 2013. Schron’s real estate holdings are worth over $10 billion. Rubin, who is 80 years old, now runs the firm with his sons Avi and Eli.
