Spirits company Diageo, which owns brands such as Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker and Baileys, is moving its offices to 3 World Trade Center, a spokesperson for the tenant confirmed to The Real Deal.

The company signed a lease for roughly 87,000 square feet and will occupy the 41st and 42nd floors at the Silverstein Properties-owned office tower.

Diageo is currently headquartered in Midtown at RXR Realty’s 530 Fifth Avenue, and has offices in Connecticut. The company is relocating those offices, and will retain space in Connecticut’s Fairfield County.

New York State is offering Diageo up to $6.6 million in performance-based Excelsior Tax Credits to move jobs to the city. The state said the deal is expected to retain 150 Diageo jobs in the city and attract 350 more.

The tenant will invest $31 million in the new offices, set to be complete by 2020.

Silverstein has been on a bit of a leasing streak at 3 WTC. The landlord recently signed a 135,000-square-foot lease in the building with Hudson River Trading, and inked mattress startup Casper to 70,000 square feet.

Silverstein announced on Wednesday that Brian Collins, most recently head of acquisitions and development at Fisher Brothers, would join the firm as executive vice president and director of development.
