A 17-unit building is being planned for 11 Essex Street, 10 years after tenants were vacated from the property.

The new owner plans to tear down the current building and replace it with an 11-story project that caters to young professionals, according to Bowery Boogie. The project will be split between 13 one-bedroom three two-bedroom micro-units and a full-floor penthouse unit.

TRA Studio will design the building, which will include bike storage space and an accessible roof deck.

Sion Misrahi sold the building for $11.4 million in August 2017, 16 years after buying it. The buyer was 11 Essex Realty LLC, an entity linked to Triumph Properties Corporation. [Bowery Boogie] – Eddie Small
