Another ground-up office building is coming to Chelsea.
Michael Kirchmann and Alan Rudikoff’s GDS Development plans to construct a 12-story, 164-foot-tall project at 322 Seventh Avenue, at the corner of 28th Street and across the street from the Fashion Institute of Technology, YIMBY reported.
Architecture firm Skidmore Owings & Merrill is designing GDSNY’s project, which will span 105,000 square feet, according to YIMBY.
The firm last summer bought a pair of structures at the site, 322-326 Seventh Avenue, for $36 million. In December, GDS filed permits to tear down the five-story and three-story, mixed-use buildings there.
The project is steps from MaryAnne Gilmartin’s L&L MAG’s development site at 241 West 28th Street, where the firm is planning to construct a 22-story, 372,000-square-foot residential complex with 460 apartments.
Elsewhere on the island, GDS is working to build another office building on a parking lot at 1241 Broadway in NoMad. That development will stand 22 stories tall and span about 141,000 square feet. In September, The Real Deal ranked it as one of the biggest developments coming to Manhattan. [YIMBY] — Mary Diduch
