Hotel specialist Michele Mahl leaves Newmark for JLL

Mahl will work as an executive vice president on JLL’s hotels team

Michele Mahl has joined JLL’s hotels team, the firm announced.

Mahl comes to JLL from Newmark Knight Frank, where she worked in the lodging capital markets group. In her new role at JLL, she will report to Jeffrey Davis, co-head of hotel capital markets in the Americas, and focus on spearheading sales of resort and full-service hotels.

She previously was a member of the hotels team at Eastdil Secured. She has been involved with more than $65 billion worth of deals throughout her career, according to the release, including the sales of the Waldorf Astoria New York and the W Union Square New York.

JLL’s team has closed more than $63 billion in hotel and hospitality transactions over the past five years. The firm recently announced it would acquire HFF in a $2 billion deal, which would create the country’s largest debt platform.

The Chicago-based commercial giant is also building out its Brooklyn retail platform, recently bringing on brokers Ryan Condren and George Danut from CPEX Real Estate.
