Compass is set to open a new Staten Island office next week, joining forces with two brokers from the area.

Joe Tirone Jr. and Tim Huang, of Community Home Brokerage LLC, have joined Compass and will launch the Joe Tirone Team on May 8, according to a statement. The revamped office is at 145 Beach Street in Stapleton.

“Compass offers the reach we need to source potential buyers throughout the country and assist our relocating sellers, wherever they plan to go,” Tirone said in the statement.

The move comes after sales in parts of Staten Island have increased. In the fourth quarter of last year, deals of one-to-three family residences in West New Brighton increased 21 percent year over year, according to the Real Estate Board of New York’s residential sales report. The average sales price ticked up 7 percent to $475,000. In Great Kills, sales rose three percent while the average sales price climbed 7 percent to $582,000.

Earlier this year, Compass made a big expansion in New York City, with the acquisition of Stribling & Associates. The deal leaves the venture-backed firm with about 1,800 agents in 11 offices here.

The brokerage previously said it won’t expand to new markets this year and will instead focus on areas where it already has a presence.
