Cuomo issued a warning to Con Edison. The governor said on Tuesday that the utility company may face the same threats the state put on National Grid if ConEd doesn’t end its own ban on new gas hookups in Westchester County and parts of the city. ConEd stopped accepting new natural gas applications in southern Westchester in March. The stalemate has infringed on development in the region. [LoHud]

 

The sale of a Red Hook townhouse appears to have set a record for the nabe. The three-bedroom home at 156 Beard Street sold for $4.35 million, which according to the New York Post is the priciest residential trade in the neighborhood. The seller had purchased the townhouse in 2016 for $1.55 million. [NYP]

 

Celebrity music producer DJ Khaled is on the hunt for a New York home. He’s said to be eyeing an Upper East Side townhouse with an asking price of $12.52 million. Corcoran’s Leighton Candler, Elizabeth Higgins and Jennifer Garabedian have the listing. The residence features three levels and four bedrooms, a 663-square-foot courtyard and a chef’s kitchen. Khaled, who bought a Miami mansion for $25.9 million last year, is looking for a place to stay while his wife, Nichole Tuck, prepares for the birth of their second child. [NYP]

The highest property taxes in New York are not in Westchester or on Long Island — relative to property value, that is. Less-affluent areas pay the highest percentage of their value in property taxes in New York. According to a think tank’s new report, areas in the Capital region, Central New York and the Finger Lakes pay the most in taxes per $1,000 in property value. [Democrat & Chronicle]

 

Grace Congregational Church is bringing a seven-story mixed use building to Harlem. The building will have 37,091 square feet, with 28,927 square feet for residential space and 5,109 square feet for community facility space, according to new permit filings with the city. The building will also include 35 residences, which are likely to be rentals. [YIMBY]

 

A West Chelsea townhouse has sold for $8.25 million. Privately held Manhattan firm Taichi Realty purchased the 109-year old building, which had been owned since at least 2002 by the seller. Rents for one-bedrooms at the address are as much as $3,500 and this sale is just the latest in recent years on the same block. [Crain’s]
