UPDATE, Jan. 20, 2020, 9:55 a.m.: Broadway Stages is bringing another movie production studio to Queens.

The film and TV production company plans to convert 45-10 19th Avenue, currently a food production facility, into a 30-foot-tall studio, doubling the height of the existing structure there, according to an application filed with the city’s Department of Buildings.

Broadway Stages is planning a vertical and horizontal expansion of the two-story building, with additional construction floor area of almost 23,500 square feet, according to the filing. The application also calls for 24 parking spaces in a garage and 52 more outdoors.

Broadway Stages owns the building, a spokesperson said. But it was not immediately clear from property records when and for how much the company acquired the site. The spokesperson declined to comment on the filing.

Water Lilies Food, which makes Asian food products, leases the building. The company did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.

Broadway Stages operates dozens of film and TV stages across Brooklyn and Queens. The company also acquired and converted the former Arthur Kill Correctional Facility, located on a 67-acre complex in Staten Island, into a production complex.

There has been a growth of sound stages in the city in recent years, particularly as New York State offers a 30 percent tax benefit for shows and movies made in the state.

Other recent movie production sites around the city include Netflix’s leasing of about 161,000 square feet in Brooklyn for six sound stages and support space and Robert De Niro’s new production studio in Astoria.
