HypeClub is opening its first brick-and-mortar location in SoHo.

The online sneaker marketplace signed a lease for 2,900 square feet at Kushner Companies’ 285 Lafayette Street, according to the Commercial Observer. The storefront will include 900 square feet on the ground floor and 2,000 square feet a lower level.

The store, where users of HypeClub can buy and sell shoes, will open early next month, according to the report.

While pricing details for the deal weren’t made available, average retail rents in the area ranged from $332 to $571 per square foot in the fourth quarter of 2020, according to a report by CBRE.

Max Swerdloff of RAE Leasing represented Kushner, while Fritz Kemerling of Atlantic Retail represented the tenant. Nicole Kushner Meyer, a principal at Kushner Companies, told the publication that the store will “breathe life into the neighborhood and these historic properties.” The landlord recently signed a deal with Major Food Group for a new restaurant across the street in the Puck Building.
