An iconic Tribeca business may be looking for a new home.

The retail space at 122 Chambers Street that’s occupied by Philip Williams Posters, a neighborhood mainstay for more than 40 years, is currently available for lease, according to a notice from Lee & Associates. Brokers Peter Braus and Cory Gahr are marketing the space, which measures 2,500 square feet. Cornerstone Management Systems owns the building.

Lee & Associates declined to comment. Philip Williams Posters did not respond to requests for comment.

The building at 122 Chambers dates back to the Civil War. The store itself stretches the entire block between Chambers and Warren streets, and features 16-foot ceilings with hardwood floors and exposed brick walls.

Philip Williams claims to have the largest collection of vintage posters in the world, with more than 100,000 posters lining its walls and approximately 500,000 artifacts within its collection. It originally opened in 1973.

“It is certainly a museum experience unlike any other, the only one of its kind in America and a New York City institution,” the website reads.

“This is what New York is about, these kind of quirky shops,” owner Philip Williams told the New York Times in 2010. “We’re part of that vanishing New York where something quirky can make a living.”
