In the spirit of the SATC reboot, these Brooklyn homes remind us why Miranda left

The internet is still atwitter over the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That. In the spirit of its mini-revival, there is a need to revisit one of the biggest question marks about SATC. No, we’re not talking about drama on the set, the on again/off again relationship between Carrie and Big (or even the accusations against the actor, Chris Noth, who plays him).

We’re talking about Miranda Hobbes up and moving to Brooklyn. The shift came in an episode that aired back in 2004, when Brooklyn was just starting to appeal to a wider audience. And the bane of Miranda’s existence was a townhouse, no less. If only the rest of our issues were the same.

In this spirit of kicking it back to the early 2000s and living the yuppie dream, our Select Spaces team has found five homes for sale in and around Park Slope  a quintet of townhomes and condos so posh they’re worth a relocation, or at least a visit.

See our picks below and stop wondering about this outer borough.

Charming townhome
170 Stratford Road | 8 BR | $2.2M

Since you probably love to name drop, 170 Stratford Road was originally built in 1905 by famous architect Benjamin Dreisler. With 8 bedrooms, this is a castle compared to what you could get for the same money in Manhattan. A formal dining room, chef’s kitchen, spa-like master bath, home library and two-car garage are some additional chic features. Sure, the place needs a little extra love, but those classic hardwood floors make it worth it.

Classic touches
108 Eighth Avenue | 5 BR | $6.9M

108 Eighth Avenue may not be a stone’s throw from Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue shopping district, but it does share its classy essence. Details are bountiful here: dark wood paneling, ornate ceiling and crown molding, and hand-carved fireplaces. It’s the perfect backdrop for those society lunches, as the home also has its own performance space with ideal acoustics. Additional unique touches–a custom stained glass window from Frank Lloyd Wright’s studios and the original tapestries in the dining room–are a few more awe-inspiring features. Did we mention that “Boardwalk Empire” and “The Knick” were also filmed here?

Renaissance home
524 3rd Street | 5 BR | $4.7M

Telling guests that they are staying in a Neo-Italian Renaissance styled home–built by famous architect Axel Hedman, no less–is a perfect way to sound like you actually care about architecture. But 524 3rd Street is so much more than just a conversation piece: it’s chic too. Hardwood floors, ample (but tasteful) molding, and fireplaces beckon you to another era. But of course, it has modern features, including a master bath with a jacuzzi tub and an airy remodeled kitchen with granite countertops. Bonus: the home comes with an additional professional area that can also be used as a guest suite, which can be a great way to keep visiting friends and family at bay.

Museum piece condo
1 Prospect Park West #7F | 3 BR | $3.4M

Manhattanites, have no fear: 1 Prospect Park West #7F is located in a pre-war, luxury doorman building. This remodeled unit has a bright, marble kitchen with Estremoz marble countertops and backsplash, as well as Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances. Its master bath features a soaking tub, and light fills the apartment through its many large windows. The apartment’s round entryways and crown molding beckon you back to its 1920s origins, and its location near Grand Army Plaza and the Brooklyn Museum make it the perfect home for the sophisticated.

Limestone luxe
17 Prospect Park West | 7 BR | $12.2M

A marble-and-wood-covered dressing area and wine cellar make 17 Prospect Park West, formerly owned by actress Jennifer Connelly, a dream home for any aspiring SATC viewer. The entrance, with marble steps and column details, sets the tone for the rest of the mansion. Floor-to-ceiling windows, ample ornate molding, and unique chandeliers make the home showy, but in the classiest way. The master suite has both a fireplace, the aforementioned dressing room, and a spa-like bath. With a parlor entrance, backyard garden, large formal living room with custom mahogany features, and dining room with built-in China cabinets, this home is an entertainer’s dream.
