Chick-fil-A’s quest for chicken sandwich dominance has reached Yonkers, where the fast food chain is set to open its first Westchester County location.

The city’s planning board approved the eatery’s proposal for 2205 Central Park Avenue last week, the Daily Voice reported. Situated at the intersection of Route 100 and 10 Roxbury Drive, the restaurant is expected to include both a drive-thru and outdoor seating.

A traffic impact analysis for the establishment last year detailed a 3,800-square-foot restaurant. The site is home to a shuttered bank, which had a drive-thru ATM and 43 off-site parking spots.

As with the brand’s other restaurants, hungry eaters will get to gobble their chicken sandwiches every day except Sundays. There’s no timeline on when the Yonkers Chick-fil-A will open.

The fast-food chain has been making a push in the New York metro area in recent years. In July, it signed a 20-year, 6,000-square-foot lease in Brooklyn’s Midwood neighborhood for its first ground-up development in the city. A three-story office building at 1573 Flatbush Avenue is being demolished to make way for the chicken joint.

The company’s first Brooklyn location was also on Flatbush Avenue, across from the Barclays Center. Patrons routinely double-park there, snarling traffic on the busy boulevard.

The Atlanta-based company debuted in New York City eight years ago at West 37th Street and Sixth Avenue. The opening of the restaurant was reminiscent of a sneaker drop or Black Friday sale, except that the lines around the block continued for weeks. It also drew protesters.

Last year, Chick-fil-A was recognized as the country’s favorite fast-food chain. It is one of the largest chicken chains in the United States, according to Technomic, with sales of $13.7 billion in 2020.
