Chef Emeril sells Midtown condo for $4.6M

Emeril Lagasse and 351 East 51st Street

Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse sold his Midtown Manhattan loft at the Beekman Regent condominium for $4.6 million in May, after gradually cutting the price down from its original asking price of $7.65 million in February of 2009, the Wall Street Journal reported. Lagasse bought the apartment, at 351 East 51st Street, in 2005 for about $5.8 million, public records show. He also spent an unreported amount of money to combine two units into what is now a four-bedroom loft apartment with more than 4,000 square feet of space. The sale closed in May, but only recently entered the public record. Brown Harris Stevens’ Nancy Candib was the listing agent. The apartment features two kitchens: a large, open-style main kitchen and a small one to be used as a “wet bar or large laundry room,” the listing says. [WSJ]
