Closings and move-ins have begun at +aRt, a 13-story, 91-unit condominium building at 540 West 28th Street, the first being a 445-square-foot studio that went for $595,000, according to the project’s developers, Ekstein Development. The company would not report any additional sales, but 18 units are in contract, according to Streeteasy.com. The building is located adjacent to The Forthcoming 28th Street entrance of the High Line, and that may be spurring sales after units were taken off the market during the economic downturn. “We’re pleased to have reached this milestone at +aRt and our buyers can now take advantage of the amenities our building offers,” developer Erik Ekstein said. “They love that there’s a new entrance to the High Line now under construction on our street.” Halstead Property is marketing +aRt, and units range from $490,000 for studios to $2.3 million for three-bedroom units.
