Former reported IDF arms dealer lists Fifth Avenue pad for nearly $10M

Alleged Israeli spy and former IDF arms dealer Ari-Ben Menashe has listed his three-bedroom, 2,300-square-foot spread at 515 Park Avenue for $9.6 million, just over a year after he bought it for just $7 million, according to data from Streeteasy.com.

Menashe, author of “Profits of War: Inside the Secret U.S.-Israeli Arms Network,” a narrative charting his alleged involvement in the Iran-Contra affair of 1986, listed the Park Avenue pad with Prudiential Douglas Elliman’s Frances Katzen earlier this week, Streetasy.com shows. The apartment features a private entry gallery, a large eat-in kitchen, a library and 3.5 baths, according to the listing. Katzen was not immediately available for comment.

The unit is one of 37 in the building, which has boasted high-profile residents such as Swedish lingerie manufacturer Eric Ryd and developer Louis Cappelli; the latter bought a 13-room spread from the former at the building in 2010 for nearly $24 million, an 18.7 percent discount from the $29.5 million asking price, The Real Deal previously reported.

Menashe, who currently runs a commodity exporting firm in Montreal, bought the unit from the Galperine family of Atlanta at the close of 2010, it was previously reported. Reached through exporting company Traeger Resources & Logistics, Menashe declined to comment, saying “Oh, please,” before hanging up.
