Tour the $100M CitySpire penthouse: VIDEO

There’s now a video tour of the $100 million, 8,000-square-foot triplex penthouse unit at CitySpire. Prudential Douglas Elliman Chairman Howard Lorber brought CNN through the home, and in an interview said that since the listing came online in late July, there has been interest in the property.

“We’ve had a couple of very important showings and we have a few more lined up,” Lorber said.

For Lorber, the views are the best part of the unit, as it has over 3,000 square feet of wrap-around terrace space. But as previously reported, Steven Klar, the owner of the unit and president of Long Island real estate developer the Klar Organization, said the terraces make him fear for his young son wandering out onto them. As for the whopping $100 million asking price, Lorber said: “Pricing apartments today, it’s not a science. This is what the owner wants for the apartment. It’ll either sell, or it won’t sell.”

As The Real Deal previously reported, a group of luxury brokers don’t think the penthouse warrants the hefty price, even with the 360-degree views.

Other features include a dining room that can seat 30 people and the power to control when the dome that caps the building gets lit at nighttime. [CNN] — Zachary Kussin
