East Village was the most in-demand neighborhood for tenants looking for a rental apartment in Manhattan in the last week, according to data from apartment listings website Zumper.

Rounding out the top five neighborhoods getting the most heat were, in order, Kips Bay, the Upper East Side, Gramercy and the Financial District, the data show. Midtown led the pack the prior week, but did not crack the top five this time around.

In terms of unit types, two-bedroom apartments were the most popular, comprising 40 percent of renter inquiries to brokers. The median rent inquiry was $2,740 per month. Studios trailed with 31 percent, and a median rent inquiry of $1,875 per month.
