Architect Zaha Hadid is taking another giant leap with the design for 520 West 28th Street, a condominium development from the Related Companies next to the High Line.

Resembling a sinuous spacecraft, the 11-story building will feature 37 condos spanning nearly 5,500 square feet each. Most of the homes will have a private vestibule and entrance, as well as 11-foot ceilings, according to a release.

Related – which released an exterior rendering today – is developing the project, Hadid’s first in New York City. Hadid’s firm has also worked on the Guangzhou Opera House in China, the Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art in Ohio, and the MAXXI: National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome, a release said.

The developer is also working on the nearby Hudson Yards, a 26-acre mixed use development that will include office towers, residences and a so-called Culture Shed museum. – Mark Maurer
