Robert Gibson, vice chair at Cushman & Wakefield, is joining JLL to head up the Manhattan retail division.

One of Gibson’s most notable deals was the brokering of a lease for the world’s largest H&M at 589 Fifth Avenue. Along with Cushman’s Thomas Citron, Gibson represented the retailer in grabbing a 56,700-square-foot space, the second-largest new retail deal in Manhattan in 2012. Gibson spent roughly seven years at Cushman, during which he earned the top overall producer award. He told the New York Post that JLL is allowing him to form a “very large retail group.”

“Things are going to change in the next three months,” Gibson told the Post. “I’m here half a day and I’m already talking to five or six brokers to come on board.”
