The Safra family, a discreet band of Brazilian billionaires, have listed three East 62nd Street townhouses for $120 million.

Sources told the New York Post that the family has actually been quietly marketing the homes in a whisper listing campaign for more than a year.

“They are super freaked out about privacy,” one real estate source told the Post, adding that technically the Safra family office owns the properties.

The Safras were first outed as the sellers by the New York Daily News, which noted that the properties are just one block south of Congregation Edmond J. Safra, an Orthodox Sephardic synagogue started by late billionaire banking tycoon Edmond Safra.

Edmond Safra died in Monaco in 1999 after his bodyguard and nurse allegedly set fire to his home. However, the bodyguard maintains his innocence.

His widow, Lily Safra owns numerous homes around the world, including a co-op at 820 Fifth Avenue in NYC.

The townhouses, located at 12, 14 and 16 East 62nd Street, between Fifth and Madison Avenues, are separate homes, but are being marketed as a potential combination project that would have 70 feet of frontage.

The Safras own a fourth townhouse adjacent to The Three East 62nd Street properties that is also on the market for $35 million. [NYDN | NYP]Christopher Cameron
