Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Koenig Rubloff will be closing its Clark Street office at 2301 North Clark Street in Lincoln Park, The Real Deal has learned. The move comes a few months after the firm lost its top agent, Jeff Lowe, to Compass.

In November, Lowe who is Chicago’s top-producing agent, left Koenig Rubloff for Compass as its first Chicago recruit and took a team of 14 agents who were based out of the Clark Street office. Lowe’s team had done over $250 million in transactions last year at Koenig Rubloff.

According to an email sent to employees by Koenig Rubloff CEO Nancy Nagy and seen by TRD, the office’s 114 agents will move to other branches, including the Gold Coast office at 980 North Michigan Avenue and another Lincoln Park office at 1800 North Clybourn Avenue.

“We will be merging the Clark Street office into our Michigan Avenue office the week of May 14,” Nagy said in the email. “We have just successfully combined two offices into that branch and our agents can tell you about the benefits of more idea sharing and collaboration.”

The firm’s total agent count remains unchanged, according to a spokesperson for the firm, who said that out of its 700 agents in the city proper, about half work out of the Gold Coast office and about 230 work out of the Clybourn office. The consolidation, the spokesperson said, “puts us in position for Michigan Avenue to be the largest and most productive office in the city, and potentially within the national Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network.”
