Movers & Shakers: Clayco and MBRE name new CFOs

James M. Havel has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer of Clayco Enterprise. Havel will work with Tony Schofield, who remains CFO of the individual businesses that make up the Clayco real estate and development division.

Havel had served as executive vice president and CFO of Express Scripts and Major Brands Holdings, a beverage distribution company. He spent more than 34 years with Ernst & Young LLP.

MB Real Estate named Carolyn Carras senior vice president and CFO. Carras will be responsible for financial operations of all third-party assets, including commercial office, healthcare and government properties. She will also serve on MBRE’s executive committee.

Carras has 30 years of experience in real estate accounting and is responsible for more than $2 billion in company assets representing over 23 properties and 14 million square feet in Downtown Chicago.

Kiser Group named Aaron Sklar senior director. Since joining the Chicago-based multifamily brokerage in 2015, Sklar has completed more than $110 million in transactions and brokered the sale of more than 1,900 units, the company said.

Stream Realty Partners hired Patrick Russo as managing director. Russo will be tasked with building the Chicago presence of Stream, a national investment, development and real estate services company.

Russo most recently was vice president of acquisitions and asset management for Lincoln Property Company. Prior to that he was a senior financial analyst in the global real estate finance group of the Nielsen Company.

Habitat Company hired Kimberly Sisney as vice president of the Habitat Affordable Group. Sisney, who has 25 years experience in property management, will lead the multifamily developer’s affordable division, which manages more than 10,000 units.

Sisney served as property management director at Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation, and as vice president of operations for Urban Innovations and senior asset manager at the Illinois Housing Development Authority.

Jo Anne Gottfried was named president of Urban Innovations. Gottfried has spent more than 31 years with the Chicago-based developer, most recently as chief operating officer.

NAI Hiffman named John Basile senior vice president on its industrial services team. Basile formerly was a vice president with Colliers International.

Dave Pawelek was named president of A&A Paving Contractors. Pawelek joined A&A as vice president in August.

Morgan/Harbour Construction named Craig Tolan and Kevin Kasten senior vice presidents. Tolan will lead preconstruction and construction operations locally and nationally, while Kasten will lead teams focusing on recruiting, employee development and client service.

Chris Baker, former head of asset management for Zeller Realty Corporation, was promoted to president. He replaces Ari Glass, who left to become head of real estate for Mansueto Office.

Robert Fernandez joined Latham & Watkins LLP’s Chicago office as a partner in the corporate department and a member of the real estate practice.
