What’s the next project for “Windy City Rehab” stars? Convincing the city to let them work.

The city has upheld its suspension of HGTV co-stars for a slew of violations

The show will not go on for “Windy City Rehab” — at least not until its stars serve a licensing suspension and fix their alleged code violations.

On Tuesday, the Department of Buildings suspended “Windy City Rehab” co-star Donovan Eckhardt’s contractor license, which he will be without for 45 days. Officials also didn’t back down from their decision to take away Eckhardt and co-star Alison Victoria’s permitting privileges, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Earlier in July, the duo came under heat when the city issued a stop-work order for Eckhardt’s Greymark Development Group and temporarily banned the firm from applying for future permits. The move came after the city found a host of violations at a build site, including lying on applications and using unlicensed workers. In another case, the home-flipping duo was found to have built a garage at a Bucktown home without the proper permits.

Two weeks later, Victoria took to Instagram to say that she would be hiring a new general contractor and working to fix the issues with the city.

“Windy City Rehab” debuted this year and is one of HGTV’s most popular shows, according to the network. The show was renewed for a second season, but the controversy has put the show in jeopardy. [Chicago Tribune] — Joe Ward
