Former Alderman Joe Moore has joined Diliberto Real Estate Services, according to Crain’s.
Moore was one of a collection of council members ousted by a group of self-described Democratic Socialists who won the February 2019 election with a campaign platform of “housing for all.”
Moore will serve as the Palos Heights-based real estate firm’s national director for its Municipal Economic Services Group.
Moore spent 28 years on the Chicago City Council, representing Rogers Park, after years working as a city attorney.
In his last election race, Moore faced scrutiny for his close relationship with Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who appointed him to run the Council’s Committee on Housing and Real Estate, as well as his history of campaign contributions from real estate developers.
His opponent, Maria Hadden — who ended up defeating him — said she would not take any donations from developers.
