A former Chicago Blackhawk sold his contemporary-style Burr Ridge home for just under $2 million.

The former right wing, Martin Lapointe, and his wife bought the five-bedroom, 5,235-square-foot home in 2016 for $780,000 and listed the property in April 2021 at $1.995 million, The Chicago Tribune reported.

The home, which was built in 1977, is located off of County Line Road and has undergone multiple renovations.

The home includes four and a half bathrooms, three fireplaces, white oak hardwood floors, designer light fixtures and custom wood shutters. The kitchen of the house is equipped with Sub-Zero and Gaggenau appliances. The first floor of the home features the primary bedroom suite — with Cathedral ceilings — as well as a primary bathroom with a fireplace. The home also has a rec room, wet bar and wine cellar.

The outside of the 0.87-acre property is outfitted with a curved driveway and a patio next to the private, wooded backyard with an adjoining stream.

Lapointe, who played for the Blackhawks from 2005-2008, became a scout for the team and now oversees the scouting of players and personnel for the Montreal Canadiens.

In addition to the Burr Ridge home the couple just sold, Lapointe and his wife also previously owned two other properties in Hinsdale.

The 2020 property tax bill for the home was $20,206.

Lapointe’s boss, former Blackhawks defenseman and current Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin, sold his six-bedroom, 4,919-square-foot house in Hinsdale for $1.3 million in July 2020.

About 30 minutes away, another athlete, former Chicago Cubs pitcher Jason Hammel is selling his home, which is walking distance to Wrigley Field, with an asking price of $2.5 million.

Additionally, two Chicago Bears players have made real estate news. Linebacker Robert Quinn sold his six-bedroom Glencoe mansion for $3.48 million and quarterback Andy Dalton paid $2.48 million for a five-bedroom house in Lake Bluff.
