Three-time Grammy Award-winner Chance the Rapper and his wife bought a five-bedroom home in north suburban Bannockburn for $2.3 million.

The couple, who had been renting a 6,700-square-foot house in Bannockburn, purchased the larger 9,520-square-foot house last month, the Chicago Tribune reported. Chance’s mother, Lisa Thompson-Bennett of Crown Heights Realty, represented her son in the deal.

It took nine years for this mansion to sell after the sellers listed the house for $3.3 million in 2012. After multiple cuts, and a listing to rent for $10,5000 a month, the price was reduced to $2.3 million last November. The sellers bought it for $2.6 million in 2004.

The house comes with six-and-a-half bathrooms, six fireplaces, a recreation room, a game room and a four-car garage. Last year, the Bannockburn home had a tax bill of about $38,0000.

A couple of Chicago Bulls players have ties to the area. Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan bought a mansion in River North for $4.5 million from Micahel Jordan’s ex-wife earlier this month. Former Bulls forward Jimmy Butler sold his six-bedroom, 10,000 square foot home on the same block three years ago for $4.2 million.

Michael Jordan has a Highland Park mansion that’s listed for $14.95 million. He cut the asking price from $29 million when he first put it on the market in 2012, but still hasn’t found a buyer. His tax bill totaled more than $1 million for the 30,000 square feet property last year.
