Luxury home developer Frank Hojjat is seeking $4.8 million for his mansion in the Chicago suburb of Burr Ridge. Hojjat’s firm, Cirrus Design Build, constructed the 14,000-square-foot home and features it on its website.

Hojjat is the founder and CEO of Cirrus, which builds luxury homes in the western suburbs of Burr Ridge, Oak Brook and Hinsdale. Dawn McKenna, an agent for Coldwell Banker Realty, is representing the sellers and didn’t respond to a request for comment.

The six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home was built in 2009. The mansion includes a two-story foyer, cherry-paneled library, butler’s pantry, chef’s kitchen with a two-tier center island for eight, according to the listing. Other perks include a gym, a sauna, a rec room with custom media center, cocktail lounge, home theater, and a 700-bottle Italian-style stone wine cellar.

The house appears to be an outlier in Burr Ridge, where it’s currently the only home listed above $4 million. In 2020, a Burr Ridge megamansion known as Villa Taj, that was once listed for $25 million, sold for $3 million. Built in 2008, that 30,214-square-foot mansion has seen its price steadily drop as it sat on the market for years.

In March, a home in Burr Ridge sold for $6.9 million, likely a record-setting real estate deal, as no public records show properties selling for more. That doesn’t account for private transactions.

Should the home sell this year, it would join at least 31 other Chicago-area sales at or above $4 million so far in 2022. The pace of luxury home sales would put 2022 ahead of 2021, when a record-setting 101 homes sold in the same price range.

Much of those sales come from the suburbs, where agents have been having another record year as families opt for more space post-pandemic.
