In Will County, August’s most expensive homes were no match for July’s. And an entirely new slate of agents made the deals for a second straight month, underscoring how much more wide open the competition is at the top of its market than in neighboring DuPage County, where Coldwell Banker’s Dawn McKenna is dominating the priciest listings.

Last month’s most expensive Will County sales ranged from $1.29 million to $1.1 million. In July, Barbie’s dream house — or at least a mansion that had a museum dedicated to the popular doll — was the top sale in Will County, and became the first property in the area to fetch more than $5 million.

Four of last month’s top five sales were in Naperville, yet the priciest was in Homer Glen for at least a third straight month. The data was collated by Zillow from information provided by Midwest Real Estate Data and doesn’t include off-market deals. Read on for thumbnails of the top five.
