Keith Brand jumps to Berkshire Hathaway from Redfin

Agent achieved over $100M in sales volume in 2021 and 2022

Keith Brand, one of Chicago’s top agents, has joined Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Chicago after six years at Redfin, his new brokerage announced on Thursday.

Brand will join the company’s Lincoln Park office. He has completed more than $200 million in career sales with more than 360 units since 2018, with more than $100 million sold in 2021 and 2022. Within Chicago, Brand specializes in the West Side, West Loop, Bucktown, Lincoln Park, Logan Square, Avondale, Lake View, Central Chicago and the Northwest Side.

Brand said he had only positive things to say about his experience at Redfin, and began speaking with various brokerages about the next steps in his career.

“I talked to a few and I really felt good about Berkshire Hathaway, and their senior leadership, He said. “They made it a point to go beyond just a call and they really took the time to get to know me, get to know what my goals were specifically, and where I saw my career path going.”

Mark Pasquesi, President of Brokerage for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago, said the company offers ample resources for Brand to support his business. “I’ve really enjoyed getting to know Keith and gaining an in-depth understanding of his priorities which are 100% client-focused and the reason he’s so successful,” he said.

Despite higher interest rates and a slower market, Brand isn’t worried about more challenging market conditions.

“At the end of the day, even if it is a slower market, or you’re going into an environment that you don’t really know where it’s going to be, I think it’s where, if anything, you’re going to have buyers and sellers that are leaning on people that are are providing value-add,” he said. “I think that’s where, regardless of the market, if you can set an individualized strategy for a buyer or seller and be an added value to that experience, you’re going to do well in any market.”

Berkshire landing Brand follows a high-profile departure from the brokerage, as Meredith Pierson leapt to Compass to form a new team with veteran agent Missy Jerfita’s Glenview-based office. The move gave the newly branded Jerfita Pierson Team offices in both Glenview and Lincoln Park.

Berkshire has over 1,400 brokers, agents and staff across 24 offices in the Chicago metro, including southern Wisconsin, northwest Indiana and parts of Michigan.
