A home built in 2019 in Burr Ridge is seeking $5.4 million in its first time on the market, an ask that, if met, would mark the western suburb’s second-priciest sale ever.

The five-bedroom, eight-bathroom home spans more than 15,000 square feet and includes one main primary bedroom, and a secondary one on the first floor for multigenerational living. It also includes an infinity pool with a waterfall, a six-car garage with room for a lift and an elevator.

The home, located on 87th street, is now the priciest home for sale in the suburb. Another home, built in 2016 and covering 8,500 square feet, is asking $5.2 million.

Other homes on the market at this size are typically older, according to the home’s listing agent, Natalie Ryan with Berkshire Hathaway Homes Services Chicago. She declined to name her client, and the seller’s identity is shielded in public property records with a private land trust documented as the owner.

Despite the large footprint, the home uses space well, and it’s newer construction than is found on most other large properties in Burr Ridge and Oak Brook, Ryan said.

The western Chicago suburb has had only one sale at or over $4 million in the past three years, according to public listing data. That sale was for a record-setting $6.9 million to Carmela Wallace, the mother of late rapper Juice WRLD. She spent $8.3 million for both a home and an adjacent empty lot, allocating $6.9 million to the 17,000-square-foot home at 6679 Lee Court and $1.4 million to the empty lot next door.

The area has notched several sales in the $3 million range in recent years, but other large-scale properties have sat on the market before selling at steep discounts. That includes a 30,000-square-foot megamansion known as Villa Taj that once listed for $25 million but sold for $3 million in 2020.
